Why Attend Live Events?

A few times a year, just before live events, I have several new team members ask me the same question – “Do I really need to attend?” My answer is a resounding “YES” if you are serious about building your business. Here are a few reasons why:
- Continuing education is essential for your personal and professional growth. Live events attract industry leaders who present valuable, relevant information.
- Sitting behind your computer every day can be very productive but can also create a very myopic view of your business world. Meeting people face-to-face, sharing ideas, comparing notes and exposing yourself to different perspectives will help to personalize the online experience and open your mind to new possibilities.
- As an Internet entrepreneur you are constantly focused on your customers and team members. At a live event you have to opportunity to do something for yourself. Leave the computer behind, meet some friends for drinks and have a quiet dinner with people who enjoy and understand what you do.
- For “Newbies”, the ability to chat with the experts and learn from their experiences (without needing to make the same mistakes) is priceless. Take advantage of their wisdom and advice.
- Many joint ventures and partnerships are formed at live events. Perhaps you will meet someone that you really resonate with and will form a mutually beneficial alliance. Or, you have a particular skill that you can offer (e.g. graphic design) in exchange for someone else’s area of expertise (e.g. copywriting).
- Live events can also be financially rewarding as many special offers are presented to attendees only. Perhaps there is a product you were interested in that is available at a discounted price or the company is providing some other membership benefit.
There is no substitute for the enthusiasm and energy level of a large group of people who all share the same vision and goals. Live events offer you this and much more. Step out of your comfort zone, let people meet the real you, and above all enjoy the experience!
